Hi. Was interested to ask if you have had experience with the web program 'RapidWeaver' in developing web pages, either personally or with kids at school.

    How does it go?
How does it compare with iWeb?
    Pros & Cons?
Is it worth parting with money for it to use in place of iWeb?

    Looking forward to your comments.

    Cheers

I haven't had any experience with the program myself. It's a new one to me. Sorry I can't be of any help.

Adam, I really wouldn't spend any money on web editing programs. Instead, I'd focus my attention on showing students how to use Read/Write Web tools, like blogs and wikis, for creating, collaborating, and sharing content on the World Wide Web.

As such, I can't endorse buying RapidWeaver or using iWeb. Given the choice between the two, I'd go with Rapid Weaver. If you don't have access to mysql-databased back web sites, then consider using some MySQL independent, PHP dependent tools you can edit online.

My favorite wiki that is MySQL independent is Pmwiki.org. You can see some examples below:

I love Rapid Weaver, but haven't really had a need to use it in awhile. It has great professional templates and is very easy to use. It's also possible to do fancy stuff with it if you know CSS.

If you're looking for something different that has a distinctly different look than iWeb, I'd go for it!

I have never heard of Rapid Weaver before. I like to use sites like Webnode or Wikispaces to create websites or for my students to create websites.
