    Hi Maggie,

I am setting up a group for local teachers.

On the choice as to whether or not to have a group dictionary for tags I have a couple of questions. Are we limited to 16 tags in the dictionary (I appreciate we can have any number of others outside dictionary)? Is there any benefit in the dictionary apart from guiding new taggers as they tag? Can we change our mind after people start tagging in the group as to what tags are in the dictionary and indeed whether we use the dictionary or not?

Also, separate question, what is the effect of the 'private' and 'important' check boxes on the dialog box I sent this message from?

Group tag dictionary - is quite flexible. As a group admin, you can edit / change them as necessary.

Limitations - I think it's mostly due to the display window. Too many you may lose the "purpose". How many do you really need? Note: group members are still free to use additional tags as they wish. it's just a way to suggest to the group members some tags to consider to provide more consistency.

Private - only the people involved can view it. Important - it's like a "star" in gmail - just as a reminder for you to easily scan through important messages.
